We chat to BLOOD star ADRIAN DUNBAR
CAN YOU DESCRIBE THE DRAMA IN JUST THREE WORDS?
That’s a hard one… [thinks for a while] … family, tension and action!
OKAY… MAYBE GIVE US A LITTLE MORE DETAIL ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT...
So, Cat (my character’s daughter), becomes very suspicious of the circumstances in which her mother dies. She suspects her father and sets out on her path of investigation. As the series progresses, you’ll find yourself saying she’s right one minute and wrong the next, then questioning whether the father (my character) is bad or good, and asking whether Cat might be going a little crazy or becoming paranoid.
WHAT DO YOU THINK THE IRISH AUDIENCE IS GOING TO LOVE ABOUT IT?
Oh, they’re going to be all over it. I think they’re gonna understand it, get it and they’re gonna want to watch it. With all the different questions rattling around all the time and a twist at the end of every episode, I think everyone’s going to be excited to watch it every week.
WHOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE A PART OF SUCH AN EXCITING HOMEGROWN DRAMA?
Well, it’s great! The more homegrown dramas we have, the better. If there’s a new player in the marketplace here in Ireland, there’s competition and that keeps everybody sharp. I’m really glad that Virgin Media Television is giving a chance to Irish directors. We’ve got two female directors which is also wonderful.
