Why Brassic Is A Must Watch
The summer sun might be preparing to pack his bags and head to – we don’t know, wherever gets sun beyond August! – but there’s something else that’s bound to brighten your mood newly arrived on Sky One (Virgin TV 114); the hilarious Brassic.
The brand new comedy, airing Thursdays at 9pm, is daring, dirty and positively delightful – and you don’t even have to wait week-to-week, because the whole lot has also landed on Virgin Box Sets! And if you’re still not convinced to give it a go, we’ve assembled a few more arguments in favour of putting it on your watch list right now…
THE TRUTH IS IN THERE
While some of the outlandish adventure might seem beyond the realms of reality, there’s actually a true-life source; the youth of star Joe Gilgun. Of course, from the bonkers bit-part players who pop up to the unmistakeable authenticity of the world depicted, there’s loads of ways in which that’s influenced the show – and all for the best, too!
THE IRISH CONNECTION
There’s scarcely a TV smash without some sort of Irish element at play these days – and Brassic is no different! Our very own Damien Molony and Aaron Heffernan are front and centre as Dylan and Ash, two of the gang at the heart of the story. Supporting our own is always important – but it’s rarely this funny!
MICHELLE OF THE BALL
While Ms. Keegan surprised some with her dramatic prowess in Our Girl – having proven her soapy credentials at length on Corrie – we haven’t had too many chances to see the actress show off her comedy chops…and now we’re wondering what took so long! It’s the imminent departure of her character, Erin, that’s behind much of the action, and Keegan plays her part in much of the laughter, too!
Proof that the best things really can come in small packages, you won’t need to devote hours of your life to enjoying this one! Hilarious half-hour comedies are something to be treasured, which is why this arrival is something to celebrate – so make sure to clear a little space in your diary!
