How to test your TV remote and order a replacement

 
 

If you're sure you need to order a replacement remote just complete the remote control order form.

A one-off charge of €10 for the postage will apply to your next bill. The order should be processed within two working days and delivery made within the following two to five days.

If you've had your remote less than three months call us on Freephone 1908 and we'll be happy to run some checks on it over the phone with you. 

Check your remote batteries before you order a new one

Sometimes customers find the remote isn't broken, it's just that the batteries are dead.

You can check this by opening the camera app on your smartphone, pointing the remote at the camera and press the Volume up button. If the batteries are still fresh, you'll see a blue light from the remote on your phone screen.

How to use your TV while you wait for your new remote

Did you know you can still navigate channels from the buttons on your set top box? And if you have our Horizon set top box, you can use the Virgin TV Anywhere App as a full-featured remote.

Follow these steps to use the Virgin TV Anywhere app as a remote control:

  • Install the Virgin TV Anywhere app
  • Tap the Open Remote Control button on the top right of the screen
  • Select your Horizon set top box from the list

Note: If you have a Horizon set top box and a separate hub installed, this won't be possible.
