are still some shows that the world revolves around – focal points for the
water cooler (or let’s face it, pub) that you don’t want to miss out on. Here
are a few shows that everyone is (or soon will be) talking about…

Home Grown Drama

Red Rock (9pm, Mondays, TV3)

Ireland’s hottest soap returns with a Hollywood star Patrick Bergin and a new, hour-long running time. The acclaimed Irish drama revolves around two feuding families. Gardaí, criminals, blackmail, murder, humiliation and forbidden love combine to make Red Rock one of the most talked about shows on Irish TV.

Striking Out (9.30pm, Sundays, RTE One)

Starring Amy Huberman and Neil Morrissey, this is a gripping, slick legal drama about a solicitor who leaves her legal firm under heartbreaking circumstances and must learn to navigate the legal world on her own. Hang in there, Amy!

A Dose of Reality

The Voice UK (8pm, Saturdays, TV3)

The popular talent show returns with some brand new judges, as well as some familiar faces. This seasons judges are vocal megastar Jennifer Hudson, production genius will.i.am, pop legend Sir Tom Jones and rock master Gavin Rossdale. We’re glad they’re not judging us!

Celebrity Big Brother (9pm, Monday-Sunday, 3e)

CBB is returning for it’s nineteenth season, but don’t expect it to follow the style of past series. This year some veterans of the show, referred to as the ‘all-stars’, join the ‘new-star’ contestants. The versed Big Brother celebrities include bad-boy Calum Best and the infamous ‘Speidi’, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, who caused quite the stir during their last Big Brother house stay.

Celebs in Your Living Room

Jamie and Jimmy’s Friday Night Feast (8pm, Fridays, Channel 4)

Hosted by Jamie Oliver and Jimmy Doherty, this food and lifestyle show serves up a hearty dollop of humour with lashings of cooking tips, all prepared with the help of celebrity guests. Previous celebrity sous chefs include Goldie Hawn, Usain Bolt, Michael Sheen and Orlando Bloom, so you never know what’s going to be on the menu.

The Graham Norton Show (10.35pm, Fridays, BBC One)

The multi award-winning comedy chat show is currently on its twentieth series and still as cheeky, lively and bubbly as ever. A revolving door of the most famous people in the world queue up for chats, stories...and the odd joke at their expense! Stars like Will Smith, James McAvoy, Tom Cruise, Helen Mirren and Cameron Diaz have become regulars on Graham’s red couch.

Cooking Up a Storm

The Hairy Biker’s Comfort Food (3.45pm, Monday-Friday, BBC One)

Presenters Dave Myers and Simon King explore the UK’s favourite comfort foods and throw in some of their own old reliable recipes! With dozens of delectable and easy-made recipes offered up by the duo, including pub grub and crowd pleasers, you’re sure to be a favourite at family events! Buy their love with food!

Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares USA (10am, Monday to Friday, Channel 4)
