Virgin TV Anywhere App Introduces Voice Search Commands
What do Pulp Fiction, Kingdom and Xposé have in common?
You can find them all on the Virgin TV Anywhere App
27th September 2017: Searching for a TV show or Movie can be a time consuming task, but not anymore for Virgin Media Ireland customers. From today, users of Virgin Media’s TV Anywhere App will have the ability to ‘find’ and ‘play’ their favourite shows movies and TV channels through the introduction of Voice Commands. That also means no more endless scrolling through 100’s of channels to find the content you’re looking for. The app is available to all Virgin Media customers who have a TV package and either an Android or iOS device.
App users will be able to access their favourite content even quicker than before by simply clicking the microphone icon located in the app and speaking into their smartphone microphone. Voice search will allow users to access almost all the content on their TV package by simply saying ‘find’ followed by a TV show, movie title, or genre. Users of the app will also be able to directly command the app to instantly stream their favourite TV channels by saying ‘play’ followed by a channel which is available on their package such as TV3, RTE or Be3.
Virgin TV Anywhere also allows Virgin Media customers to tune into their favourite channels, shows and movies while on the go. It allows users of the app to record content remotely with the click of a button – simple!
Paul Gilsenan, Product Manager, Virgin Media said “Once again Virgin Media is making it even easier for customers to access all their favourite content with the addition of voice search and voice commands to the Virgin TV Anywhere smartphone application”.
“This improved search function means customers can simply tap on the microphone icon and speak into their phone and search for content by show, genre, or movie title – as well being able to search for all their favourite TV shows and documentaries”.
