UPC launches new Horizon TV App for Android
Horizon TV App will be live on Google Play Store from 8th April
Ireland, 8th April 2014 – Ireland’s leading TV, broadband and communications innovator, UPC today announced that its popular Horizon TV App is now available to Android smartphone and tablet users in the Google Play Store from 8th April.
For UPC Digital TV and broadband customers, this app allows them to enjoy their favourite TV shows on their Android device free of charge. UPC customers can already avail of Horizon TV Online and by App on Apple iOS devices.
UPC TV lovers can enjoy up to 50 channels using the Live TV streaming function including all Irish terrestrial channels and the best of the UK terrestrials including BBC 1, 2, 3, 4, UTV, ITV 2, 3, 4, Sky News and Sky Sports News.
Additionally, customers can view the TV Guide, Personal Suggestions and schedule remote recordings to their Digital+ or Horizon TV HD+ box, direct from their device, whilst out and about.

The Android app builds on the success of the Apple iOS version which was released in April 2013 which now boasts over 400,000 video steams each month with over a quarter of eligible UPC customers downloading the app.

The Horizon TV Android App is compatible with all Android Operating System versions from 4.0.3 up to 4.3. The app should normally also work on Android 4.4 but we have not yet been able to thoroughly test this compatibility.
