Ending your mobile plan within the 14-day cooling off period

Did you buy your SIM card in the last 14 days? You can use our cooling-off cancellation form to cancel your plan.

Fill in the form online, or download it and send it back by post if you prefer. We’ll let you know as soon as we’ve got it.

Ending your mobile plan after the 14-day cooling off period

If you’ve been with us for over 14 days and you want to end your mobile plan, you will need to contact our cancellation department on freephone 1908 (select the Cancel option)

Please note:
You will need to give us 30 days’ notice to cancel your plan.

How to change your mobile plan

Each month you have the option of upgrading or downgrading your mobile plan, so it suits you best. Here's how.

Changing your plan

  1. Call us on Freephone 1908 and chat to the Mobile Care team
  2. When you are connected to an agent, let them know the changes you'd like to make to your mobile plan.
  3. The agent will place an instruction on your mobile account for the plan to change.
  4. The mobile plan will change at the start of your next bill cycle*.

* Remember: The Virgin Mobile bill cycle starts on the 19th of each month, so any changes you make to your mobile plan will not be reflected until then.

Changing to a SIM only plan

Here is what you need to do to switch to one of our SIM only Freestyle plans:

  1. Call us on Freephone 1908 and chat to the Mobile Care team.
  2. When you are connected to an agent, ask them what the remaining balance is left to pay off of your phone handset.
  3. Make the payment with the agent on the call.
  4. Now that your phone is paid off, you are no longer in contract, and you will revert to a SIM Only 30-day rolling contract.

What is included in Virgin Mobiles 5GB plan?

Short Answer: A lot. Long Answer: 5GB of 4G data which you can use within the Republic of Ireland. and when Roaming in the EU. Data usage over 5GB will be charged at 1c per MB. 500 minutes of calls that you can use within the Republic of Ireland to call any national mobile or landline or when Roaming in the EU to call other EU mobile or landline numbers. 500 texts that you can use within the Republic of Ireland to text any national mobile or when Roaming in the EU to text other EU mobiles. After these limits, customers will be charged per unit at standard rates.

What contract lengths are there with Virgin Mobiles Price plans?

Virgin Mobile's SIM-Only price plans have a 30-day contract. We think that’s a big plus. You’re not locked into a lengthy contract and can change the plan to meet your needs. Although, we will need 30 days' notice. You can learn more about your SIM-Only plans.

To get the special pricing for Virgin Mobile, as a Virgin Media TV and broadband customer, do I have to sign up to a new contract on my broadband and TV?

Nope. That’s the beauty of a rolling contract. If you’re a Virgin Media Broadband or TV customer, you can have a maximum of six SIMs per account and a maximum of four devices.

How many promotional/customer price plans can I sign up to?

We offer a maximum of 6 SIMs per Virgin Media TV/Broadband account. After all, no person's an island, and our deals are too good not to share.

How can I pay my bill?

We like to keep things smooth, simple, and safe; we require all Virgin Mobile customers to pay their monthly mobile bill by Direct Debit.

What period does my monthly bill cover?

Your monthly bill covers the period from the 19th of the month until the 18th of the following month. Your bill will be issued on the 21st of every month, with your Direct Debit payment being taken within 10 days of your bill being issued.

What are the costs for using services on my phone outside of my bundle?

We suggest you review the full list of out of bundle rates. Remember, with our freestyle contracts, you can change your plan as long as you give us 30 days' notice.
