Spring may not have sprung quite yet, but already there’s a whole bunch of shows we’re excited for on Netflix! You’ll surely know by now that the service is available on Virgin TV 999 – and by reading below, you’ll get the lowdown on the shows you simply can’t miss over the coming weeks…
STAR TREK:DISCOVERY

The seminal sci-fi series is synonymous with reinventing itself for new, ahem, generations – and they’ve nailed it once more here! Set ten years before the original with Sonequa Martin-Green leading the way, it’s just as ambitious and awesome as this iconic franchise deserves.
GRACE & FRANKIE

The sassy septuagenarians have never been shrinking violets – so it’s saying something that their latest adventures (and misadventures!) might just be their most outrageous to date. Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are pitch-perfect as the partners-in-crime – what is it they say about being as young as you feel?!
NIGHTFLYERS

The horror sci-fi is adapted from the writing of George
R.R. Martin – which has proven successful in the past, says you! – and has had fans on tenterhooks since it was teased at ComicCon last summer. And while it might be out of this world, it has links far closer to home than you’d think: it was filmed in Limerick!
TITANS

The Boy Wonder is front and centre as Robin and his crimefighting crew get their moment in the sun. Indeed, the ensemble is a collection of characters as good as you’ll see this year, and business really picks up when the whole band is together. Delightfully dark, this comic-book caper is just as grown-up as Batman’s former sidekick!
SEX EDUCATION
Season 1 available from February 14th
A dramedy following an awkward teenager putting his unlikely area of expertise to good use, this probably isn’t one for the whole family to watch together! When you’re not cringing, however, there’s both hilarity and heart in this one, and Gillian Anderson is superb in her role as the matter-of-fact mom to blame for it all!
UMBRELLA ACADEMY
Season 1 available from February 15th
While there’s no such thing as a normal superhero family, some are more dysfunctional than others- and the Hargreeves take the absolute biscuit! Nevertheless, the motley crew – including our own Robert Sheehan as The Séance – work together to solve their father’s death, in a story first created in comic book form by the lead singer of My Chemical Romance – now there’s some trivia for ya!
MARVEL’S THE PUNISHER
