Who Won Love Island 2019? It’s Only Amber And Our Greg!

Love Island Finale

After eight weeks of flings, fights, flirting and general frenzy, Love Island is over for another year – and Irish eyes are smiling!

It wasn’t Maura who scooped the spoils, though – in fact, she and Curtis finished in fourth (yeah, FOURTH) place. We trust a national tribunal will begin within the week.

Instead, it was Limerick’s own Greg O’Shea who emerged victorious, alongside Amber, to claim the £50,000 jackpot (which they shared, of course!)

A model of efficiency – as opposed to a a model of the regular kind, which he could be too – Greg spent a mere 12 days on the show, but that was enough to win both fair maiden and fair dues.

Having recited a poem as his written declaration of love – and twerked up a sweat in the garden earlier on – it was hard not to acknowledge how likeable the Irishman was during his time in the house. Mind, watching early favourites like Molly-Mae and Tommy pipped to the prize, you couldn’t help but wonder if he just had the rub of the green when it came to timing; die as a hero and all that lark…

Perhaps the biggest news coming out of the evening? The aforementioned Molly-Mae and Tommy are moving in together! We would be utterly shocked if they didn’t share that new home with a load of cameras – for what would a reality show be without a spin-off these days?!

But that shouldn’t take away from the happy, winning couple. She was the first one into the villa; he was the last. And at a time when Anglo-Irish relations are strained, maybe they’ll inspire us all to be our best selves…

And so, that’s it for another year…BUT WAIT! While we’d normally only have a Christmas special to look forward to between now and next summer, there’ll be a brand new series throughout the winter, beginning in the new year! And (surely) a show in Tommy and Molly-Mae’s new gaff! And…well, we’ll wait to see what else! One things for sure, though; while the series might be over, our love island will never die…
