Remote Not Required! - Five Reasons To Stick With Virgin Media One This Week!

Muireann O'Connell & Greg O'Shea: Lineout

Maybe you’re a drama junkie; perhaps game shows get you going; or perhaps it’s superb sports or excellent entertainment that press your buttons. Whatever the case, the answer remains the same; there’s something waiting for you on Virgin Media One this week!

So settle in on the couch, pop on Virgin TV 103, and sit back; on top of all the daily staples you’ve come to know and love, here are five highlights in the week ahead…

THE MILLION POUND CUBE

Nightly, 9pm

Seven games is all that stands between pairs of contestants and a whopping £1m; that’s about €1.1 million by current exchange rates, but The One Point One Million Euro Cube doesn’t have the same ring. Anyway… Phillip Schofield is the man in charge, as the hopefuls take to the most famous perspex box since David Blaine lived above the Thames for six weeks. Will anyone triumph – and walk away as millionaires? There’s only one way to find out – and only one week to get stuck in!

GOGGLEBOX IRELAND

Wednesday, 10pm

The top telly watchers in the land are back for one final time this season – so you definitely don’t want to miss this one! Whether it’s the old favourites who remain your picks, or some of the newbies that have stolen your heart, there’s nothing quite like the cosy comfort of seeing them do their thing. The best bit? If something they’re reacting to piques your interest, there’s a good chance you can hit the On Demand button and find it on Catch Up...

THE LINEOUT

Thursday, 10pm

It’s the warm-up to Super Saturday of the Guinness Six Nations – finally! – and Muireann O’Connell and Greg O’Shea are the pair putting you through your paces. Of course, they’ll have help at hand, in the form of some special guests, all building up to the three games that make up the final round of the tournament, including Ireland’s trip to Paris to take on France with the title still in the balance. In fact, speaking of which…

GUINNESS SIX NATIONS RUGBY

Saturday, 1pm

It’s traditionally a St Patrick’s Weekend staple, but – like just about everything this year, says you – it’s a little different this time. Or, at least the date is; in terms of the intensity, the excitement, and the glory awaiting one side, those things never change! France v Ireland takes top billing, but indulge yourself in a day of action, starting twitch Wales v Scotland; we waited more than seven months, so it’s the least you can do!

DON’T ROCK THE BOAT

Monday Nov 2nd, 9pm

It’s been described as one of TV’s toughest ever challenges – and from the looks of it, we certainly wouldn’t fancy it! 12 celebrities are tasked with rowing the length of Britain, taking to the water and – as a pair of wise Corkmen once said – pulling like a dog! Freddie Flintoff and AJ Odudu have the cushy job of hosting from dry land, while familiar faces including Craig Charles, Kimberly Wyatt and Victoria Pendleton are the ones who’ll be popping the sea-sickness tablets and earning callouses on their hands like the new time!
