Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I enter?

On your mark, get set, enter! Fill out our online form by Wednesday 19th April 2017, and you’ll be on your way to taking Dublin’s streets by storm in the Virgin Media Night Run.  

2. How much is the entry fee and what does it include?

The entry fee is €30 (plus €1.50 processing and administration charge). This includes a lot more than just entry to the race. You’ll also receive a timing chip, race number, race shirt, a finishers’ medal and a gorgeous goodie bag. But you’re not in it just for the swag, right?


*A limited number of walk up entries will be available during race registration times at Trinity College (see question 8 for details). These entries will be €35.00. Note: there will be no credit card facilities available.

3. What time does the race start?

The race starts at 21.00pm, but the fun starts as soon as you arrive at the staging area. So come early and get ready with the rest of the runners.

4. What time should I arrive to the staging area?

While the race kicks off at 21.00pm, we’d like to get everything up and running beforehand. Participants will gather in the staging area at 20:20pm, and we’ll have a group warm up 20:50pm.

5. What are the prizes for the top 3 male and female finishers?

Below are the confirmed prizes:

• 1st Male & Female: Apple iPhone 7 each
• 2nd Male & Female: €200 Run Logic Voucher each
• 3rd Male & Female: €100 Run Logic Voucher each

6. Is there a race cut off time?

There is. Everyone has an hour and twenty minutes to complete the race, which is more than enough time when there’s a spring in your step. In fairness, the powers that be have been more than accommodating, but we can only shut down the city for so long.

7. Are toilets provided on the route?

There will be adequate toilet facilities pre-race at the start area however there will not be toilet facilities along the route.

8. Where and when will race registration take place?

Although you entered online, we still need to register (and get your gear). The hours are flexible, and the location is easy. Visit Trinity College Ancillary Hall on the following dates and times only:


• Friday 21st April 11.00 to 20.00
• Saturday 22nd April 11.00 to 18.00
• Sunday 23rd April 11.00 to 16.00

9. When will I receive my race number, top and goodie bag?

You’ll get everything you need to join the fun as soon as you register for the race. Swing by Trinity College Ancillary Hall at the dates and times specified above.

10. Will there be a group warm up for the race?

We want our runners in top condition, so we’ll have a group warm-up at the start area at 20:50pm. Get ready to stretch your legs, and your smiles.

11. Will there be baggage facilities?

There most certainly will! We’ll mind your Virgin Media bag – free of charge – at a baggage drop in Mayor Square. Please keep in mind, this is only for your Virgin Media goodie bag though, so pack light.

12. Will there be medical facilities?

Without question. Your safety comes first: clearly marked medical facilities in place on the route if you need any assistance. There will also be a fully equipped medical centre at the finish line to address any trouble you or anyone you know may be experiencing.

13. Will there be parking at the event?

Race organisers would love if participants used public transport to get to the event. A lot of streets will be closed for the runners, so finding a place to park will be a bit harder than usual. If you have to drive, that’s OK; there will be on-street parking outside of the race route on Sunday 23rd April, but jumping on the Luas or Dart, or using Dublin Bus would be ideal.


We have teamed up with Q-Park Ireland to provide quality discounted parking for all participants. You can park at Q-Park Clery’s for €6 and Q-Park St Stephen’s Green for €7 between 5pm and 9am. All you need to do is go to www.q-park.ie and pre-book the ‘Night Run’ product for either of these car parks. Terms and conditions apply, offer is for online pre-booking only.

14. Is the event chip timed?

It sure is. After all, checking your time is half the fun. The chip will be contained within your race bib number, and the results will be posted online shortly after the race.

15. How do I check my race time after I finish?

We all know the feeling. It’s Monday morning, you race out the door, sit down at your desk, and realise you left your stopwatch at home. Complete nightmare. You don’t have to worry about that with the Night Run: A link to race results will be posted online after the event. Just keep an eye on our social media channels for updates, check your time, and share it with the world.

16. I’ve just signed up for the Night Run online what do I do next?

The first step is to sit tight. In just a bit, you’ll receive an email confirming your entry into the race. We’ll send a second email during the week of the event which will include your official race number and further details about race pack collection (race bib number, top and goodie bag) and race weekend itself.

Before the race, you’ll need to register and collect your race pack at Trinity College Sports Hall (enter via Pearse St) on the following dates and times only:

• Friday 21st April 11.00 to 20.00
• Saturday 22nd April 11.00 to 18.00
• Sunday 23rd April 11.00 to 16.00


After that … all you need to do is show up, stretch, take to the streets, and have fun!
