Notes:
MOB CITY
Fridays at 10pm from 17th January (UK Premiere) Acclaimed filmmaker Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption) brings 1940s Los Angeles to life in the highly-anticipated gangster drama, MOB CITY.
Based on the real-life accounts of the cops and gangsters of the time, this is the seductive story of the violent crime underbelly of America's most glamorous city and those who wanted to control it. The series stars Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead) Ed Burns (Saving Private Ryan), Neal McDonough (Justified), Jeremy Luke (Don Jon) and guest stars Simon Pegg (The World’s End).
Los Angeles - home to movie stars, influential studio heads and returning war heroes. But it’s also a place caught between a powerful and corrupt police force and an even more dangerous criminal network determined to take over. Police Chief William Parker (McDonough) has made it his mission to bring down the city’s most infamous mobsters including Ben ‘Bugsy’ Siegel (Burns) and criminal master mind Mickey Cohen (Jeremy Luke). Setting up his own mob task force, including Det. Joe Teague (Bernthal) the lines between right and wrong quickly become blurred, and no one can be sure to who to trust.
THE SPOILS OF BABYLON
Saturdays at 9pm from 18th January (UK Premiere) Get ready for the most anticipated television event of the century, as THE SPOILS OF BABYLON premieres in the UK on FOX on 18th January. A miniseries based on fictional famous author Eric Jonrosh's best-selling novel, this is a century-spanning saga about the sexy and dramatic lives of a family that has made a fortune in the oil business.
THE SPOILS OF BABYLON features Jessica Alba, Will Ferrell, Jellybean Howie, Val Kilmer, Tobey Maguire, Haley Joel Osment, Tim Robbins, Michael Sheen, Steve Tom and Kristen Wiig with a cameo by David Spade and the voice of Carey Mulligan. The show is produced by Funny or Die and executive produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Matt Piedmont, Andrew Steele and Nate Young. Steele and Piedmont created and wrote the series, and Piedmont directed.
Legendary author Eric Jonrosh (Ferrell), the undisputed master of fiction, personally opens and closes each episode, introducing audiences to the storytelling genius behind the brilliant adaptation of his best-selling novel. THE SPOILS OF BABYLON chronicles the lives of the Morehouse family, led by Jonas Morehouse (Robbins), his daughter Cynthia (Wiig) and her adopted brother Devon (Maguire). The series takes viewers from the oil fields of Texas to boardrooms in New York City, through war torn battlefields and velvet-sheeted bedrooms.
Cynthia and Devon’s unbridled and taboo passion for one another cannot be prevented. Add in Cynthia’s evil son Winston (Osment), her put upon husband Chet Halner (Sheen), and Devon’s new love interest Dixie Melonworth (Alba), and the booze, the pills, more passion, more pills and the heartache, and you have a hotbed of emotions about to bubble over. Then add in illegal arms deals, international espionage, the Shah of Iran (Ferrell), and two US Army Generals (Kilmer, Steve Tom) to create one of the most epic stories of our time. Sit back, relax and prepare to be swept away in the wonder of THE SPOILS OF BABYLON.
