Virgin Media Customer Update

Since storm Emma, our network and technical teams have been working around the clock to restore service where it’s feasible and safe to do so.  While we are still assessing the final extent of storm damage across our network we can confirm that due to the quick response by Virgin Media staff, we maintained connectivity to the vast majority of our customer base.

 

At this stage the majority of remaining issues correspond with ESB network outages, and a small minority are due to damage to our networks.

Following the Status Red Alert weather conditions across the country conditions remain challenging in Leinster, Munster and Galway. 

 

Many outages currently being reported relate to power outages, and our emergency crews will be deployed once the ESB have restored service and it is safe to do so. Any planned service or install appointment(s) will be rescheduled, once conditions improve.  We’re monitoring all updates from the National Emergency Co-Ordination Group and Met Éireann.

 

The adverse weather conditions also mean that our customer support lines continue to operate on a limited basis, with only our technical support phone lines open. Due to the Status Red Alert weather conditions across the country, we have taken the decision to reduce our field operations to emergency repairs only in the affected areas. Any planned service or install appointment(s) will be rescheduled.  This is in response to the latest update from the National Emergency Co-Ordination and our priority to keep staff safe.
