How much will it cost me to make calls using the Virgin Media Phone App?
You know all those free minutes in your home phone bundle? When you call through the Virgin Media Phone App, you’re using those very same minutes, which means they’re free through the app. However, any calls made outside of your bundle will be charged at the rate associated with your home phone tariff.
What types of calls can I make using the Virgin Media Phone App?
Any of them! Local, national, mobile and international; they're all contactable using Virgin Media Phone App.
Can I use the Virgin Media Phone App when abroad?
Absolutely, but try to stick to using a WiFi connection. Using 3G/4G could result in data roaming charges.
Additionally, you must download V1.3 or a later version of the app to make and receive calls over 3G/4G. This functionality is not available with older versions of the app.
Will I be charged extra for using the Virgin Media Phone App when abroad?
Nope, and that’s the beauty of it. When you make a call using Virgin Media Phone App, you’re charged the same rate as your home phone – whether you’re abroad or not. For example, if you call your friend in Cork when you're on holidays in Spain using the App, you will only be charged the rate of a national call. Of course, if you use your call pack minutes these calls are free. Any calls made outside of your call pack are charged as the standard rate.
We recommend that you only use the app over WiFi when abroad to avoid roaming fees. And remember, you must download V1.3 or a later version of the app to make and receive calls over 3G/4G. This functionality is not available with older versions of the app.
I currently have the Virgin Media Phone App downloaded on 3 devices but want to deactivate one of the current devices and add a new one. How do I do this?
Maybe you got an upgrade on your mobile. Maybe there’s a new addition to the home. Whatever the reason, if you’d like to use the Virgin Media Phone App on another device, you need to start by deactivating the app on one of the first three devices. This can be done in one of two ways.
From the App:
1. Go to “Settings”.
2. Select “Service Management”.
3. Input your My Virgin Media username and password.
4. Clicking "Deactivate" will remove the App from all of your registered devices.
5. Clicking "Deactivate this App" will remove it only from the device you are currently using.
Using My Virgin Media:
1. Access the “Virgin Media Phone App” section in My Virgin Media.
2. Click on the "Deactivate Device" button.

Can I make a call on my home phone while another family member makes a call using the Virgin Media Phone App at the same time?
Sure you can. In fact, you can make up to four calls simultaneously; one from your home phone and three using the App.
What is call waiting?
Call waiting alerts you if another caller is trying to get through to you while you’re on the phone. A quiet beep tells you that a second call is on the line. You then have the choice of whether or not to take the second call.
Will I be able to receive calls on my home phone if another family member is on a call using Virgin media Phone App?

Aw, we’re sorry to hear this. If you experiencing call quality issues when connected to 3G or 4G, we recommend that you connect to a WiFi network. If WiFi is enabled and you are experiencing call quality issues, move a little closer to the modem, or try another WiFi connection.
